Am I OBESE??? We just got the Wii Fit and it put me as OBESE................?
I am and weigh . I had a baby o months ago but think I look pretty dang good....but I feel horrible that it catagorized me as OBESE! How about kids who get on this thing and it makes them think twice?

The Wii uses BMI to calculate weight to height ratio...brbrUnfortunately, BMI is of no indication of health, it was created as a statistic, by a statistician with no medical degree in order to classify people into groups to use in scientific study. It is by no means a method of which to calculate how healthy a person is. Its merely a ratio of height to weight... thats it, and nothing more.brbrA person who is quot and is a body builder and very healthy WILL have the same BMI as someone who is quot and has quotmore to lovequot and in need of a diet. It doesnt take into account the things that really, truly classify one as being healthy, or overweight, like fat , body structure and size, muscle mass, and physical strength.brbrSo for the most part, ignore BMI and solely focus on your goals that you want to achieve for yourself.brbr
